Skiing

The snow-season in Colorado has been less than stellar.  However, this doesn't mean there isn't any snow, so we decided to goof on this past Friday and do some skiing.  The weather was perfect--almost 40 degrees, which is probably too warm for mid-January.  There were a number of bare spots on the mountain, but we were able to ski around them.  I took some great pictures with my new camera.  First up, Bode and Ashley at the base of the lifts to start the day.
We arrived just as the lifts opened, and quickly headed over to Mercury Chair, where we warmed up our legs.
We then headed over to Peak 10--our first time on this peak all season, as it was still closed when we skied in December.  We skied a number of runs on this peak, as it is our favorite.
We then headed over to the Peak 8 midway connect.  This is probably one of the best and most scenic runs.  We all like the skiing--a little steep, so nice bumps, and never crowded.
We were excited to learn that both Chair 6 and the Imperial lift were open, which took us all the way to the top of Peak 8.  Very pretty up there, but also a little chilly.
We spent a few hours skiing on Friday, and then went to lunch at Eric's.  We then lazed around the little house we rented, watching TV/movies and reading.  We were planning on doing more activities today.  Sadly, around 11:30 last night, Bode started throwing up.  Nothing serious, but it put a damper on today's plans.  The little trooper tried to power through--he even said he felt fine to go ice skating, but once there, it was quickly evident he was not feeling well.  We headed back to the rental, packed up, and headed home.  Unfortunately, Bode threw up in my car on the ride home, which always makes for a nice smell.  Little guy is feeling somewhat better--perhaps it was something he ate, lack of oxygen combined with not enough water, or just something else.  We'll rest tonight--maybe catch up on Agents of SHIELD or something.  Pleasant weekend and happy government shut down to all.
